News: Youth Soccer - Week 2

Youth Soccer League is in full swing in sunny Seward, Alaska, with kids wearing their crisp new jerseys, colorful knee high socks, and pulling up to the pitch ready to play their hearts out. The Week 2 games were full of excitement, so let’s get into it!

Thursday, July 30th

Rookies - 5:30-6:30pm

Seward Bike Shop v Seward Properties
In a high scoring match on the Alice Field, Seward Bike Shop defeated Seward Properties in a dominant fashion, with a final score of 6-2. Five different players scored for Seward Bike Shop, including a team high two goals by Soren Walker.

Suds N’ Swirl v Seward Vacation Properties
On the Marathon Field, Suds N’ Swirl took on Seward Vacation Properties. The Suds team fell in a tight match, with a final score of 5-3. Jude Beck on the SVP team led the way with an impressive hat trick. Way to go!

Juniors - 6:30-7:30pm

Seward Heavy Industrial Power v Seward Chamber of Commerce
Back on the Alice Field at 6:30, the Juniors games commenced with Seward Heavy Industrial Power taking on the Seward Chamber of Commerce. SHIP won the match, with a final score of 4-1. Harold Harner and Torin Brasher both chipped in two goals for SHIP, with Elizabeth Baron scoring the Chamber’s lone goal. 

Seward Coastal Charters v Tru Construction
In the final match of the evening on the Marathon Field, Seward Coastal Charters shut out Tru Construction with a final score of 11-0. SCC came out with a multi-faceted attack, with their scoring coming from eight different players! Cam Phillips, Isaac Solano and Micah Solano led the way with two scores a piece.
