News: Doubles Pickleball League - Week 6

Week 6
It’s the last week of the regular season and things are shaping up like the Battle for Middle Earth as the league erupts in chaos like lava careening through the air at Mordor. What was once a league of parody has turned into a war of mashed up orcs, elves, nazguls, hobbits and men. Let’s see where everyone stands after last week.
Clinging to the surface of Mordor barely able to stand and rid themselves of the ring, Dink Pony Club has lost traction as Gollum has bitten the finger of winning off the team. They have fallen to 7-5 on the season, but are clinging onto 3rd place and hoping an eagle will come to save them and fly them high into the playoffs.
Nacho Average Ninja flew off a warg over a cliff like Aragorn this past week as Late Run Silvers gave them their first blip. A shocked rest of the league stood jaw-dropped at this unexpected moment, but Nacho Average Ninja Servers are ok swimming in the safe river below and flowing fast to the top seed in the playoffs at 11-1.
Crow and Kristi continue to fall like an oliphaunt who’s been tripped up by ropes. But don’t let the fall fool you because they are mighty and even in their fall they can do some damage. They are now 1-11 on the season.
Late Run Silvers are sticking to their name, charging down the hill like Gandolf coming to the rescue at the Battle of Helms Deep! They are making quick work of their opponents and rising up those orc ladders on the wall at 6-6 and in fifth place.
Hot Dogs in the Hallway are on a similar trajectory. Like nazguls flying on fell beasts, they are sweeping up their opponents in heaps as they even their record at 6-6 and stand in fourth place.
Who has taken their fare share of battle wounds like Boromir taking arrows, but continue to fight on, staving off orcs to ensure safety for the hobbits. Will they be like Boromir and fall or will they be like Frodo and carry on after being wounded by a morgul-blade. They are in 6th place, but just barely with a record of 5-7.
Volley Llamas are on their journey up and down hills as they make their way towards middle earth (playoffs) with great haste aboard Shadowfax. They sit soundly in second place at 8-4.
Sassy Seniors took a tumble down the hill like Frodo and Sam this past week dropping them to 4-8 and 7th place. Will they be able to cloak themselves before the Eye of Sauron catches a glimpse of them and ends their season. Stay tuned for next week’s writeup and find out. Standings below.
