In primordial times there was a moment when fish crawled out of the ocean and walked on the earth. Many great minds have wondered why this occurred; could it have been because food sources were scarce? Could it have been because of predation and consequently Darwinian evolution? I tend to believe that terrestrial animals began evolving external limbs in order to hold an aluminum alloy racket.
In three weeks we have seen earth move and stars align. Clear leaders have begun making themselves known in the gold league and the competition has been fierce. All of our current standings are reflective only of games played. Let’s dive in.

We had two games played early this week, Jamie beating Izzy in three games and Zeke beating Doyle in two. Mel v. Fred is pending a makeup match. This is a summary of our lone game from Monday night.

Match 1: Brad v. Francisco
Francisco returned from his trip with a new vigor and enthusiasm for the racquetball court. He had heard about this mysterious newcomer and was eager to test his skills. Brad entered the court week three on a two week run and was sitting high on the undefeated throne. No one has yet found Brad's weaknesses, would Francisco be the one? Game one unfolds with fireworks and fanfare, Francisco starts hot as the two begin to figure out each other's game. Francisco makes it 3-0 and Brad seems to be on his heels. Before long Brad's confidence settles into place, as does his serve, and he rattles off 13 unanswered. Francisco digs down deep, like he's trying to remember the lyrics of an old childhood song, and manages 3 more points before Brad finishes the game with decisiveness. Brad takes game one 15-6.
Francisco had to find energy and power. He knew that being down a game meant he’d need two straight to take home the win. Just returning from a trip to New Mexico the avatar to lead him was obvious; the great figure of a scorpion appeared in his mind. With a whip like serve Francisco begins game two on fire. With agility he covers the court as if he’s got multiple legs, and with venomous precision he places shots off the front wall that Brad can’t return. The two trade serves for a long while but before long Brad is able to wear through Francisco's exoskeleton. In a flash of light Brad finishes the match and takes game two 15-4.

Below are your standings after three weeks as well as the match up times for week four. Remember these standings only represent games played and will be updated as makeup games commence. May the Cube judge us righteously and may the strong be deemed worthy!
