Week 5 Recap
Who would’ve thought the first week of November would be such an unpredictable and compelling week of basketball. We had a little bit of everything including a nailbiter, a blow out, a comeback heartbreaker, and… a forfeit??? Let’s take a closer look at how it all went down.
ILWU vs Runners
This week's action started off with a close game between ILWU and the Runners, the Runners jumped out to a 27-20 halftime lead largely due to Mykel pouring in 15 points in the first half alone. ILWU would go on to outscore the Runners in the second half, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Runners would hold on to win the game despite Bjornn putting up a personal season best 26 points. Runners improve to 4-6 and ILWU falls to 0-10 with a final score of 53-59.
907 Elite vs AVTEC
This highly anticipated matchup between the league's top two teams unfortunately did not live up to the hype. 907 Elite put together a 83-49 statement win over AVTEC with Coop leading the way off an efficient 25 points. AVTEC battled in the second half behind 21 points from Nic, but the teams first half struggles ultimately led to their demise. 907 Elite remains undefeated at 9-0 while AVTEC drops a game to fall to 4-5.

Runners vs AVTEC
A matchup between the Runners and AVTEC ended with the Runners getting their second win of the week with an explosive performance from Mykel scoring 29 of the teams 70 points. AVTEC struggled in the first half going down 41-24 but battled back in the second leaving us with a final score of 70-57. The Runners improve to 4-6 while AVTEC falls to 6-4, tightening the standings and fueling what's starting to feel like an inevitable playoff clash between the two.
