News: Staff Spotlight - MEL

Mel has been with Parks and Rec for 20 years, serving in several different capacities and took over the director role in 2023. She played a critical role in resurrecting the teen room several years back and has grown the department significantly in her time as director.

Mel is the glue that holds everything together. Her knowledge of every department, from maintenance to campgrounds to sports and rec, is critical to the smooth operations here at Parks Recreation. Along with her knowledge, she is a model of consistency as well as kindness and helpfulness. She never forgets to celebrate a birthday or special occasion of anyone here and can always be leaned on when extra help is needed.

Mel enjoys spending time with her family, especially her new grandchild. She is a veteran of the racquetball court and has a bit of a green thumb. She has a beautiful soul and is always smiling.
