Zombie Run Volunteers
Help! There a Zombie outbreak starting at the Middle School and Seward Parks and Recreation Needs your help!
All positions will meet at Race HQ located at the Seward Middle School at 5pm. All volunteers will receive a 2026 Shirt!
Traffic Control
The Seward Police, Fire and Parks and Recreation Departments cover our most important intersections. However, we require a large amount of volunteers to cover the rest of the course. Dress according to what the weather calls for. Expect to stand at your position from 6pm to 7:30pm. Safety vest and flag are provided at Race HQ. Though specific intersections are listed, we commonly reassign our volunteers during race week to make sure the course has an even spread of volunteers.

Individuals that function well in high-stress quick-paced environments will fit in well here!
Before the race:
Check racers in, hand them their bib, and let them know needed information at check-in.
During the race:
Collect participant data to submit, assist as back-up timers
Zombies
We are seeking individuals that are fit, love to act and can tolerate heavy make-up and wearing a costume in all weather conditions. We have 4 "Zombie Zones", in which there will be two zombies chasing participants and trying to snatch flags off the runners waist. You will be sprinting for an hour straight.
NOTE: We are going to host a Zombie Runway show after the race for participants to vote on their favorite Zombie!
Zombie Zone Safety's
Each "Zombie Zone" will need a safety guard that is ensuring the zone is as safe as can be and can dispense first aid in the event of a fall or minor injury. This position should be fairly entertaining, though you will be out in the elements for the 1-1.5 hours during the race. Headlamp required.
Race Sweep
Sweep the race and collect directional signs and course marking and return to to race headquarters a the Seward Middle School!
An email will be sent out the week of the event to establish a meeting time before the race so we can do a safety briefing and give you instructions. Headlamp required.
