Seward Wild Bird Scavenger Hunt - June 2026

Rules:  
    • Create a personal folder with your name, contact information, documentation, and points within our scavenger hunt folder in Google Drive. To create a folder in Google Drive: 1. If you are on a computer, click on the link and once you are in Google Drive, you can right click the screen, hit “new folder” and create your folder. 2. If you are on a mobile device, once you are in Google Drive, you can click the “+ sign” on the bottom right corner on the screen and create your folder.
  • You must document each bird by taking a photo. Include the date seen and the location.
  • To upload your photos into your Google Drive folder on your mobile devices: open your folder on Google Drive, click the “+ sign” on the bottom right corner of the screen and select “Upload”, then select “Photos and Videos”. Select the photos you would like to upload and click “Upload” in the top right hand corner. To make it easier for scoring, please rename the file to the species of bird represented in the picture. On the computer: open your folder in Google Drive,  right click the screen and select “File Upload”. Select the files you would like to upload and click “Open”. 
  • To help you stay organized on which birds you need to still photograph, feel free to make a copy of this program description and rename the file “YOUR NAME Scavenger Hunt List
  • The contestants that earn 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will receive prizes!

Helpful tips: 
  • If you have a cell phone, download the free “Merlin Bird ID” app by Cornell Lab to help with bird identification.
